In response to Caroline Cunningham's comment, Fred Harrison has the answer in his books Ricardo's Law, and Silver Bullet. Both excellent reads and very thought-provoking.

The twice mortgaged Baby Boomers home owners and Landlords who receive middle class welfare enriching themselves on Fresh government infulstructure spending from taxes of low income working poor and future generations who may still be renting, as stimulus package for amenities that increase their market holdings, while claiming depreciation and negative gearing on property?

Sounds Fair?

I like a lot of what he says but he is a little sloppy with the facts regarding taxes. The rich still pay the most total income tax, even with payroll taxes included.

Taxing high wage income is way to volatile. Just think if we counted on all of the high commission earning real estate agents for our revenue?

Stick with the land value and natural resource tax.

Unquestionably the system of taxation that prevails is unfair and unbalanced in its targetting.
So what is the overburdened, overtaxed labourer supposed to do about all this? Any suggestions....? Anyone.....?
